RF Ablation of Tumor Mass

NE Scientific CEO Andrea Borsic will be presenting at the NVIDIA Early Stage Challenge at the GPU Technology Conference 2015 in San Jose, California, on March 18th.

The Early Stage Challenge is a competition for a $100,000 prize organized and sponsored by NVIDIA for early stage companies (companies that have received less than $1 million in funding) that use GPU technology in the products or services they offer.

NE Scientific has been selected to be one of the 12 finalist companies to compete for the prize. CEO Andrea Borsic will give a presentation on the use of GPUs for accelerating electrical and thermal simulations that are at the core of a computerized platform for guiding Radio Frequency Ablation, a surgical procedure used to treat small tumoral masses.

In the figure above an electrode for Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA), shaped like an umbrella, is used to necrotize a tumoral mass. NE Scientific is developing applications for per-operative planning and intra-operative guidance in RFA.
